Storm Proxies vs SOAX

SOAX sells residential and mobile proxies on credit-based plans: you pay a monthly fee, get credits, and spend them per gigabyte at a rate set by the country of the IP. Storm Proxies sells residential ports at a fixed monthly price with no data limit. Both rotate real residential IPs. They charge for very different things.

Prices checked October 2026

Pick Storm Proxies if…

  • Your residential traffic is in the USA or EU and runs into hundreds of GB a month.
  • You want a fixed price instead of credits that run down. Usage on SOAX stops when the prepaid balance hits zero.
  • You want to buy without an identity check. Storm proxies work right after payment.
  • You want a small entry point: 1 residential port for $19/month, unlimited bandwidth.

Pick SOAX if…

  • You need residential or mobile IPs in many countries, with city, ISP, ASN or ZIP targeting.
  • You need SOCKS5 or UDP/QUIC. Storm is HTTP(S) only.
  • You need mobile carrier IPs, which Storm doesn’t sell.
  • You want to pay in crypto or by wire transfer.

Looking for a SOAX alternative?

SOAX suits teams that need residential or mobile IPs in many places, with fine targeting. For heavy users in one region, the credit model takes some managing: every gigabyte draws down the balance, US traffic sits in the most expensive tier, and credits you don’t use expire after 60 days.

Storm Proxies swaps credits for ports. Each residential port is a fixed monthly price, and bandwidth isn’t counted. You lose the global reach, SOCKS5 and mobile IPs. You gain a bill that stays the same however much you scrape in the USA or EU.

500 GB of US residential traffic

US IPs are in SOAX’s tier 1, its highest rate. Here’s what a 500 GB month of US residential traffic comes to, using SOAX’s listed Team plan rate and Storm’s plan prices.

SOAX Team plan, 500 GB at $2.20/GBabout $1,100The $500 plan fee covers about 500 credits; the rest is topped up. SOAX calls $1 per credit a rough guide.
Storm Proxies residential, 5 ports$50/moUnlimited bandwidth. No credits, nothing expires.

The SOAX figure drops on bigger plans: the Scale plan charges $1.50/GB for US traffic, for a $1,500 monthly fee. It also drops sharply for tier 3 countries. If your traffic is outside the USA and EU, Storm residential doesn’t cover it anyway.

On Storm, 5 ports means 5 parallel residential connections with a new IP every 5 minutes. For more parallel work, 10 ports are $90/month and 20 ports $160/month, still with no data limit.

Where the gap closes is light use. SOAX’s own calculator puts 100 GB of US traffic at $300 on Builder. Even there, Storm’s 5 ports at $50 cost less, but SOAX gives you city and ISP targeting that Storm doesn’t.

Credits vs ports

SOAX charges a monthly plan fee that comes with credits. You spend credits per gigabyte, at one rate for residential and mobile, and the rate depends on which country the IP is in. The USA is tier 1. When the balance runs out, usage stops unless you top up or use postpaid billing.

Storm Proxies charges per port. A port is one connection to our residential gateway, rotating through 20M+ IPs. You can move 10 GB or 10 TB through it in a month and the price doesn’t change.

Credits make sense for precise targeting around the world; for heavy USA or EU volume, ports cost less.

Where SOAX is stronger

  • Reach. 195+ countries, with region, city and ISP targeting. Storm offers USA or EU residential IPs.
  • Mobile proxies on the same credits. Storm doesn’t sell mobile IPs.
  • Protocols. SOCKS5 and UDP/QUIC, besides HTTP(S).
  • A larger residential pool: 155+ million, against Storm’s 20M+.
  • Session control. Rotate on every request or set your own sticky session length. Storm residential rotates every 5 minutes.
  • Payment options, including crypto and wire transfer.

Where Storm Proxies is stronger

  • No usage charges. Unlimited bandwidth on every plan, so a big crawl doesn’t drain anything.
  • Nothing expires. No credits to use up within 60 days.
  • No verification step. Pay by card or PayPal and your ports are live.
  • Low entry price: one residential port for $19/month.
  • Datacenter rotation too. 700,000+ rotating datacenter IPs with a new IP per request, from $14/month.

Who each one is best for

Scraping US and EU sites

High volume, one or two regions: Storm residential ports keep the cost fixed. For a specific city, or a country outside those regions, SOAX’s targeting is the better tool.

SEO tools

For Scrapebox, GSA SER and rank checkers, datacenter rotation is usually enough. Storm’s rotating proxies give a new IP per request from $14/month.

Tickets and sneakers

Storm has residential packs for ticket sites and AIO Bot, and private ticket-site proxies, priced per month rather than per gigabyte.

Social media

For several accounts on stable IPs, Storm’s Instagram and Facebook proxies start at 5 for $15/month. If a platform insists on mobile IPs, SOAX has them.
