Storm Proxies vs DataImpulse

DataImpulse sells residential traffic at $1 per GB, with a $5 starter pack and GB that never expire. Storm Proxies doesn’t sell gigabytes. You pay a flat monthly price for ports or threads and use as much bandwidth as you like. Which one costs less comes down to how much data you move.

Prices checked October 2026

Pick Storm Proxies if…

  • You use more than about 50 GB of residential traffic a month. Storm’s 5 ports cost $50/month with no data limit.
  • You want a fixed monthly cost that your accountant can plan around, not top-ups.
  • Your SEO tools need fresh datacenter IPs on every request: 10 rotating threads for $14/month, 700,000+ IP pool.
  • You pay by PayPal. Storm accepts it along with Visa, Mastercard, Discover and Amex.

Pick DataImpulse if…

  • Your usage is low or uneven. A $5 pack gives you 5 GB, and DataImpulse says the traffic never expires.
  • You need IPs outside the USA and EU. DataImpulse lists 195+ locations, with free country targeting.
  • You need SOCKS5 or mobile IPs. DataImpulse offers both; Storm sells HTTP(S) only.
  • You want a bigger residential pool: 90M+ IPs against Storm’s 20M+.

Looking for a DataImpulse alternative?

DataImpulse wins on entry price. Five dollars buys real residential traffic, and the balance waits until you use it. The catch appears when a project takes off. At $1 per GB, the bill rises in step with every page you fetch, and you keep topping up.

Storm Proxies caps the cost instead of the data. Five residential ports are $50/month whether you move 30 GB or 3 TB. The trade-off is reach: our residential IPs are in the USA or EU, we have no mobile IPs, and we don’t support SOCKS5. If those matter, DataImpulse is still a good fit.

A terabyte of residential traffic

DataImpulse lists a 1 TB residential pack, so let’s use that. Think of a job that crawls retail or travel sites all month and lands near 1 TB. Same workload, two invoices.

DataImpulse residential, Advanced 1 TB$800$0.8 per GB. Next month’s terabyte is another $800.
Storm Proxies residential, 5 ports$50/moUnlimited bandwidth. One terabyte or five, still $50.

The break-even point is low. At DataImpulse’s $1/GB rate, 50 GB costs $50, the same as Storm’s 5-port plan. Below that, DataImpulse is cheaper. Above it, every extra GB is money you wouldn’t spend on Storm.

Datacenter tells a similar story. DataImpulse charges $0.50/GB, or $450 for a 1 TB pack. Storm’s 40 rotating threads are $39/month, and its private dedicated USA proxies start at 5 for $10/month, both with unlimited data.

One thing in DataImpulse’s favour: unused traffic never expires. If your work comes in bursts a few times a year, a pack you top up rarely may beat any monthly plan.

Pay for traffic, or pay for connections

DataImpulse sells traffic. Residential is $1/GB in Intro ($5) and Basic ($50) packs, and $0.8/GB in the 1 TB Advanced pack. Datacenter is $0.50/GB, mobile $2/GB and premium residential $5/GB. Country targeting is free; city, ASN and ZIP targeting carry extra costs.

Storm sells connections. On residential you choose ports, on rotating datacenter you choose threads, on dedicated you choose IPs. The monthly price is fixed and bandwidth isn’t counted. More data costs nothing; more parallel connections cost a bigger plan.

Where DataImpulse is stronger

  • Low entry cost. $5 gets you started, and traffic never expires.
  • Global coverage. 195+ locations versus Storm’s USA and EU residential IPs.
  • More proxy types. Mobile and premium residential IPs, plus SOCKS5 support.
  • A larger pool: 90M+ residential IPs.
  • Session choice. Rotating or sticky sessions on the same plan.

Where Storm Proxies is stronger

  • Heavy months cost the same as light ones. Unlimited bandwidth on residential, rotating and dedicated plans.
  • Rotating datacenter by the thread. A gateway that swaps the IP on every request, or every 3 or 15 minutes, from 700,000+ IPs.
  • Private dedicated proxies in Cheyenne, Los Angeles and New York, from $2 per IP with a 1 Gbps network.
  • PayPal and Discover at checkout.
  • Packs for niche jobs: ticket sites, AIO Bot and social media accounts.

What about mobile and premium IPs?

Storm doesn’t sell mobile proxies. If your work needs carrier IPs, DataImpulse lists them at $2/GB from a 16M+ pool. Its premium residential tier, at $5/GB, adds every targeting option and a dedicated proxy manager. For most scraping and SEO jobs in the USA and EU, standard residential or rotating datacenter IPs do the work, and that’s where a flat plan pays off.

Who each one is best for

Occasional scraping

A few GB here and there: DataImpulse, because you pay only for what you use and the balance doesn’t expire.

Daily, high-volume scraping

Once you pass roughly 50 GB a month on USA or EU targets, Storm residential ports cost less, and the gap widens with every GB.

SEO tools

Scrapebox, GSA SER and similar tools burn through bandwidth. Rotating threads from $14/month keep that bill flat.

Social accounts and tickets

Storm’s private Instagram proxies give each account its own private IP, 5 for $15/month. For ticket sites there are 20 residential ports for $160/month.
