Storm Proxies vs MyPrivateProxy

MyPrivateProxy sells private datacenter proxies by the proxy, spread over many US cities and a few European ones. Storm Proxies sells private proxies too, and adds rotating datacenter and residential IPs on the same flat, unlimited-bandwidth model. If you only need static IPs, the two are close. If you also need rotation, they aren’t. Here’s the detail.

Looking for a MyPrivateProxy alternative?

MyPrivateProxy keeps to one product: static private proxies, priced per IP, spread across a long list of US cities. The trouble starts when the job changes shape. A static list is great for logging in to accounts. It’s less handy when a scraper needs a different IP on each request, or when a target only trusts residential addresses. MyPrivateProxy’s answer is a fresh batch once per billing cycle.

Storm Proxies covers both sides under one account. Keep your private proxies for accounts, and add a rotating gateway or residential ports for the crawling, all with unlimited bandwidth. What you give up: our private proxies sit in three US locations, not 16 cities and 8 European sites, and at a few hundred static IPs MyPrivateProxy’s per-proxy price is lower than ours.

Five private proxies, side by side

Most people test a provider with a small pack. Five private IPs is enough to run a handful of accounts or a light rank tracker. Here’s what five proxies cost on each side today, both billed monthly with no bandwidth meter.

MyPrivateProxy MPP 5$11.75/mo5 private proxies over 2 locations and 2 subnets. Refundable within 3 days.
Storm Proxies private dedicated, 5 proxies$10/mo5 private USA proxies, 1 Gbps network, 100 threads. 24-hour money-back on this package.

At five proxies the gap is small, and both sides give you a refund window to test. MyPrivateProxy’s window is longer: 3 days against our 24 hours. MyPrivateProxy also spreads even a small plan over two locations, which some users want for account work.

The picture flips at volume. MyPrivateProxy’s 500-proxy plan is $750/month and ships 550 IPs with the bonus, while Storm’s largest private pack is 400 proxies for $640/month. If you need a big static list in many cities, MyPrivateProxy is the cheaper buy per IP.

Where Storm pulls ahead is the work a static list can’t do well. If those proxies were really meant for scraping, 40 rotating threads cost $39/month and pull from 700,000+ IPs, with a new one on every request. You’d need a lot of static IPs to match that spread.

Same model on private proxies, different range

On private proxies the two companies price things the same way. You pay a flat monthly fee per IP and bandwidth isn’t metered. Threads differ: MyPrivateProxy allows up to 100 per proxy, Storm lists 100 concurrent threads per plan. Neither side charges per gigabyte for these plans, so the comparison is mostly about price per IP, locations and what else you can add.

MyPrivateProxy goes wide on static. Its plans add locations and subnets as they grow: MPP 50 spans 5 locations and 10 subnets, MPP 500 spans 10 locations and 20 subnets. It also offers shared plans from $50 for 50 proxies and a separate Ticketmaster pack of 253 proxies for $390/month.

Storm goes wide on proxy types. Private dedicated proxies cover the accounts. A backconnect gateway handles scraping with automatic rotation. Residential ports give you home IPs for sites that block datacenter ranges. All three use the same flat billing and unlimited bandwidth.

Where MyPrivateProxy is stronger

  • City spread. 16 major US cities, including Chicago, Seattle, Miami and Denver, plus 8 European locations. Storm’s private IPs are in Cheyenne, Los Angeles and New York.
  • Price at scale. From $1.36 per proxy at 500 down to $1.13 at 2,000, with 10% extra proxies on plans from 10 up.
  • A single proxy. MPP 1 gets you one private IP for $2.49. Storm’s smallest private pack is 5.
  • Longer refund window. 3 days on new small plans, against Storm’s 24 hours.
  • Flexible auth. Whitelist up to 10 IPs, or use username and password.

Where Storm Proxies is stronger

  • Rotation on tap. A new IP on every request from 700,000+ addresses, or sticky 3- and 15-minute sessions. Good for Scrapebox, GSA SER and custom crawlers.
  • Residential IPs. 20M+ residential addresses in the USA or EU, from $19/month for 1 port, with no per-GB fees.
  • A lower entry price for five IPs. $10 against $11.75.
  • Packs for specific sites. Private proxies for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Pinterest, plus residential packs for ticket sites and AIO Bot.
  • One account for every job. Static, rotating and residential live side by side in the same member area.

Who each one is best for

Account management

Both work. You want one stable IP per account. Storm’s Instagram and Facebook packs start at 5 for $15/month. If your accounts need IPs in a particular US city, MyPrivateProxy’s wider city list may suit you better.

Scraping and SEO tools

Storm. On search engines, a static list sends every query from the same few IPs. The rotating gateway swaps IPs for you, starting at 10 threads for $14/month.

Ticket sites

MyPrivateProxy points ticket buyers to its dedicated product and also lists a Ticketmaster pack. Storm offers private ticket proxies (200 for $600/month) and residential ticket ports (20 for $160/month). Compare the IP type each site needs before you choose.

Large static lists

If you need 500 or more static datacenter IPs across many US cities, MyPrivateProxy’s volume pricing beats Storm’s per IP.

If you like flat per-IP pricing but also need rotating or residential IPs, Storm Proxies is a close match: private proxies from $10/month for 5, rotating datacenter from $14/month and residential from $19/month, all with unlimited bandwidth. If you only want a big static list in many US cities, look at other private-proxy sellers with wide city coverage.

Is MyPrivateProxy cheaper than Storm Proxies?

It depends on size. For 5 proxies Storm is cheaper ($10 against $11.75 a month). At 500 proxies MyPrivateProxy costs $750/month and adds a 10% bonus, which works out lower per IP than Storm’s 400 proxies for $640/month.

Does MyPrivateProxy offer a free trial?

No. Its FAQ says it stopped trial proxies because of abuse and suggests buying the smallest plan, with a 3-day refund. Storm doesn’t offer a free trial either. The smallest package of each Storm proxy type has a 24-hour money-back guarantee on your first order.

Can I get rotating proxies from MyPrivateProxy?

Its plans are static lists. You can ask for a new batch once per billing cycle, or turn on monthly Auto-Refresh. Storm’s rotating proxies give you a new IP on every request, or every 3 or 15 minutes.

Do both providers have unlimited bandwidth?

Yes. MyPrivateProxy states no restrictions on bandwidth for its private plans, and every Storm Proxies plan has unlimited bandwidth, including residential.

Will my software work after switching?

Most likely. Both sell HTTP(S) proxies with IP or user:pass login on private plans. Swap the proxy list in your tool, add your access IP in the Storm member area, and you’re running.
